Thirsk is well known for its connections with vet and author Alf Wight and the James Herriot museum, while its market square is surrounded by independent shops, cafés and local character.

With the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales on either side, the cottages are well placed for days out to places such as Fountains Abbey, Castle Howard, Rievaulx, Byland Abbey and York.
